I love my goldfish - could you draw him as well?
Of course - even if your pet is not furry I would love to draw it. Fluffy Fellows is all about animal portraits, so no matter if it is a horse painting or a guinea pig's face, snakes or rats, variety is exciting and no pet is being discriminated.
Can I have more than 1 pet on my portrait?
Yes, it is possible - I offer a variety of different sizes and styles - check them out here. For the minimal digital portrait it is even necessary to have different pets or just different photos of the same pet. For watercolour, ink and the realistic portrait you may also have more than just 1 pet. For the realistic portrait I however recommend one - at least in most cases. Portrait art works best with one head per page - in my experience a series of frames with one pet each looks often better than just one frame with two or three pets. As I also include sometimes lengthy pet names, it might look crammed. After all it really depends on the size of your chosen format. I guess the best advise is for you to take a piece of paper with the size you would like to order, look at it and imagine how big the individual pet faces including lettering could roughly get. In doubt, just send me a message before you order and we will figure it out.
I would like to have not just the face, but my whole cat on the portrait - is that possible?
With the minimal digital it is no problem at all. If you are choosing the realistic digital portrait I would
not recommend painting the whole pet. It is the face that is the most expressive and it is where you can really see the pet's personality. However, we can also speak about this individually if you
send me an email. As this also involves extra work I would have to add an extra fee.
Can I send you more than one photo of my pet?
Sure - for the minimal digital portrait you have to send me at least 4 photos anyway. As for the other painting styles it is purely optional. But it might be a good opportunity to get to know the character of your pet even better. I will then opt for the most expressive picture in my opinion. If you prefer a certain photo though, do let me know so there will not be any misunderstandings. Please keep in mind to not exceed a total attachment volume of approximately 10MB.
I was checking the proof and I would like to have a few things changed. What will be the cost?
Firstly, minor changes are free of charge. This includes for example changing your background colour, positioning of the pet name, adding a bit of colour or hair here and there. However, if you wish to change something major such as exchanging a complete pose of your pet or re-drawing an entire body part (i.e. eyes) I will have to charge an extra 15€ per major change. This is why it is important to send good photos and communicate clearly what exactly you want.
How do I know if my picture has a good resolution?
You can see it. Technically spoken a photo of 300 ppi would be ideal. But you do not need to know much about
pixels - if the photo is sharp, clear and well-lit - preferably in natural light that is great. The more detailed the photo, the more detailed
will be your portrait. That also means your animal should not be too far away from the lens. In case I really cannot work with your photo I will let you know so we can find an alternative. Check below a few examples of how the ideal photo would look like - and what does not work at all.
I would like to have a colour that is not in your options - how can I do this?
You only need to send me your RGB code via Email and choose "Custom" as a colour. You can find the colour codes here. For example, a code would look like this: 200,58,60 (R,G,B). I would advise you not to choose colours that are too dark or
too light as the results might not be satisfactory. Please also keep in mind that the colour profile of your screen will influence the perception of colours. Unfortunately, I cannot assume liability
if you do not like your custom colour once printed. So if you want to be super safe, I would recommend using the standard colours because they are printed and tested and therefore I know that
they harmonise very well with the black and white drawing. Otherwise just do not go too dark or too light.
I have already placed my order but changed my mind about the background colour - is it still possible to change it?
Yes, I will send you a proof and it is no problem to change the background colour. Once you have confirmed the
proof I will hand it over to my printer. After that I cannot consider special wishes anymore. The portrait will be printed as confirmed.
How long does it take for the portrait to be painted?
As our pets are usually pretty furry and each portrait is drawn by hand, I estimate about 1 to 2 weeks for the drawing, plus the additional shipping time. During peak times such as Christmas you should plan at least 6 weeks in advance in order for you to have it in time underneath your Christmas tree. Also, if you order more than one portrait at a time it might take a little longer, simply because it is handmade.
How much time takes shipping?
Nationally (in Germany) it takes approximately 1-3 weekdays, EU-Shipping is 3-5 weekdays and international shipping takes between 10-15 weekdays - but I have also had shippings to Australia that took 4 weeks. So if you want to be safe and you need it for a certain date e.g. for a birthday or Christmas, adding a bit more time will certainly not be a mistake.
What are the shipping costs?
I am shipping your drawing as a trackable and insured option.
National shipping (Germany): 3,95€
International shipping (EU + World): 6€
Is my painting protected?
Yes. I will wrap your painting in silk paper and also put it in a very very sturdy envelope to prevent it from bending. This has worked very well so far. Should you still encounter a problem, please get in touch with me.
I would like to order a format different from your options. Is it possible?
Yes, it is. Please just send me an email and I am happy to make you an offer.
Can I cancel my order?
If I have already started with your portrait I am not able to cancel your order unfortunately.
Can I publish my pet portrait?
First of all, the print is all yours. However, the drawing itself is protected by copyright. Feel free to share
on your social media, please do not forget to credit and if you feel very generous I am always happy about a tag or a nice review. In case you would like to publish a photo of your portrait, e.g. on
your homepage, please send me an email and tell me what you are planning to do. This is not to annoy you, but art gets
copied so easily these days and this is a way to try and protect my work.
Even more? You are a curious one! Just send me an email and hopefully we will both be smarter afterwards. :)
